Praise for this book

First, I don't know Ryan Puusaari. I'm not a friend leaving a review. I wouldn't know Ryan in a line up of two next to Carl Jung. I wasn't given this book for free in exchange for a five star review. I'm giving it a five star review because it deserves one.

I was given this book as a gift. It's truly one of the best gifts I've ever been given. I stop writing and close this book and feel a little lighter. I feel like I've unraveled a part of me. I have clarity. I know why I've been doing this thing (like, say, not asking for help), why it's not benefitting me and how I can change it in the future.

A lot of the prompts are loaded questions and that's okay - that's why you're doing shadow work. To face all those loaded questions you've been avoiding your whole life. Some of the prompts and questions may seem very similar but they really aren't. They approach the same problem from a different perspective. It really teases out all of the feelings and issues you have about a certain topic. You really feel like you've gotten to the bottom of the issue.

If you're like me, you have a mountain of issues to deal with and you don't know how or where to begin. This book takes that mountain and breaks into small pebbles. Every day you pick up one of those pebbles and you look at it and think about how it doesn't serve you anymore and you throw it into a river and watch it wash downstream. The mountain is still there but today you got rid of one pebble. And day after day, you get rid of more pebbles and Mount Emotional Trauma gradually reduces in size. It becomes a hill. That's what this book does. It takes that mountain, breaks it into small pieces, and over time, it (and you) makes the mountain smaller until you can get over the hill.

So think of this book as the pick axe you need to tear that mountain down. You can't start chipping away on your own. This book is the tool that'll help you.
